What is CAS?

CAS stands for Creativity, Action, Service and is an integral part of the IB Diploma Program. The IB CAS Program encourages us to better ourselves as human beings through creative expression, physical action and community service. IB’s main focus with CAS is to provide a learning experience to all of us and to have us perform quality activities. The new requirement for IB is to keep a CAS portfolio in a medium of choice. Seeing as I already have a website of my own, I choose to keep my CAS portfolio online here at my website. Below the CAS tab on the menu bar you will find my CAS portfolio for any given year.

What is IB?

IB stands for International Baccalaureate and is a thorough educational program that emphasizes on internationalism and whole student education. The IB courses are similar in difficulty to AP courses but don’t focus on memorizing textbooks and instead focus on understanding concepts. Not only does IB have you taking subject area courses but they have you do core courses as well. These include ToK (Theory of Knowledge), EE (Extended Essay) and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service). These core courses help to develop you as a whole and are IB requirements. This website is to act as my CAS portfolio and will hold all of my CAS activities.
